چکیده

In this letter report, core sediments from the Mt Elbert Stratigraphic Test Well #1 (Mt Elbert) located at Milne Point, Alaska were characterized in situ by high-pressure x-ray diffraction (HXRD). These samples represent part of the 500 ft (152.4 m) of continuous core collected from the D and C sands in the Mikkelson Tongue of the Canning Formation (BOSWELL et al., 2008). Research teams began collecting core in February 2007 as part of a collaborative project aimed to assess the feasibility of gas hydrates as a future energy source. The well was drilled to a depth of 3,002 ft (915m), with 1,670 ft (509 m) of permafrost and several thick sand formations in an area of Prudhoe Bay estimated to contain between 35 and 42 trillion ft 3 (1.0 and 1.2 trillion m 3 ) of gas (RUTQVIST et al., 2009).

Influence of stoichiometry on the dielectric properties of sputtered strontium titanate thin films

The dielectric permittivity, dielectric quality factor ~inverse dielectric loss!, and lattice parameter of 140 nm sputtered SrTiO3 films were dependent on the oxygen partial pressure and total chamber pressure (O21Ar) during film growth. Films were grown at 25 and 75 mTorr ~mT! in an oxygen rich and oxygen deficient sputtering gas environment concurrently on ~100! SrTiO3 and ~111! Pt/~0001! Al2...

Determination of cristobalite phase content in ceramic cores using various X-ray quantitative phase analysis methods

The aim of this research is to investigate different X-ray based quantitative phase analysis methods for determination of cristobalite phase content in ceramic cores. For this purpose, four popular routes including peak absolute intensity method, relative intensity ratio method, direct or calibration method and internal standard (or Alexander-Klug) method have been chosen. Some control samples ...

Abstract: powerful method for the characterization of microstructures of crystalline materials in terms of crystallite size anddislocation structures. In this paper the effect of the sliding on the microstructure of A356 in the as-cast and heattreated conditions are studied, The X-ray phase analysis shows that with increasing applied load, the dislocationdensity is increased, whereas the crysta...
